Celebrity Cruise Line
Celebrity has long been known for providing the ultimate in premium cruise experiences. With a focus on luxury at a sensible price, they have built up a fleet of ships that give glamorous a whole new meaning.
The company was founded back in 1989 and was acquired by Royal Caribbean in 1997, now operating as its sister cruise line. Their home base is Miami and their destination choices include Alaska, Asia, Canada, Bermuda, the Caribbean and Europe. In 2004, Celebrity launched their Celebrity Xpeditions program, which gives passengers the option of a more adventurous, exclusive cruise experience. This program includes trips to the Galapagos Islands on board a luxurious megayacht, as well as premium excursion options on various itineraries.
In regards to the onboard experience, the spotlight is on service, with a guest to staff ration of approximately 2:1. Their Millennium class ships, launched in 2000, offer luxurious features such as poolside massages, afternoon teas and amazing lunchtime spreads. Other amenities include the standard shows, fitness centers, casinos and a youth program, as well as more elite activities such as wine tastings, art auctions and their amazing “AquaSpa” offering a unique variety of spa treatments. Celebrity has expanded to include ships even larger than their Millennium line, debuting during 2008-2010. These ships plan to dissuade travelers of the idea that premium ships must be small and exclusive, with their service remaining impeccable and their amenities even more extensive.
