Inside passage cruises typically sail on seven day itineraries roundtrip from Seattle, Washington or Vancouver BC. Some ten day sailings are also available from San Francisco. These sailings travel through the inside passage in Southeast Alaska, also called the “panhandle”. Itineraries vary by ship but most sail as far north as Juneau or Skagway. Ports of call may include cites such as Juneau, Ketchikan, Haines, Icy Strait Point, Sitka and Skagway. Generally, there are two or three days at sea including popular scenic cruising destinations such as Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier or Tracy Arm Fjord.

The Inside Passage cruises can be a good introduction to Alaska cruising. However, we usually recommend either the Northbound Glacier Route or Southbound Glacier Route cruises, not only for the additional glacier viewing, but the chance to explore Alaska by land before or after your cruise.
