Island Princess
Reminiscent of a real floating island, the Island Princess is a world unto itself and provides top-notch amenities with flawless service. This amazing ship was launched in 2003 and holds up to 1,970 passengers. It has a spacious and sleek layout, giving guests plenty of room yet not so huge as to be overwhelming. Cabins start at just under 160 square feet and go up to 470 square foot suites. The Island Princess has more private balconies than any other ship in the fleet, with over 700 balcony rooms and 90 percent of the rooms are oceanview. Public areas are open and airy, despite the trimmer lines of this ship, created to traverse the Panama Canal.
Fun isn’t hard to find here, with entertainment choices such as live theater and movies in the Princess Theater and Universe Lounge, or the Paris-themed Princess Casino. Nightclubs and bars include the Wheelhouse Bar for drinks and relaxing or the Explorers Lounge for dancing. Fitness options are also wide-ranging, with a lovely promenade deck for that daily jog, an oceanview gym with assorted equipment and table tennis or golfing.
A very family-friendly ship, the Island Princess gives its littlest guests plenty to do. There is a dedicated children’s pool, as well as a “Fun Zone” with games and supervised activities. Teens can escape to the “Off Limits” teen club and disco.
