A fairly recent addition to the Holland America line, the Oosterdam was introduced in 2003. It is the second ship in the Vista Class, the first being the Zuiderdam.With room for up to 1,824 passengers and weighing in at 82,000 tons, this large and elegant ship offers all the modern amenities one might expect, along with classic style and taste.

Bold and bright colors are the décor theme for this contemporary cruise, with rich accents and an easy layout for getting around onboard. Cabins run small, but most have verandahs and upgrades to the deluxe suites are always an option. Onboard activities and amenities include an internet café, gift shops, a video arcade, dance classes and wine tastings.

There are three main dining venues on the Oosterdam; the Vista Dining Room, which offers the standard dinner seating times and fine cuisine, the Lido, with its buffet style fare and the Pinnacle Grill, featuring a gourmet dining experience for a $20 per guest charge. Holland America is working towards incorporating its new “As You Wish” dining program on all its ships, with the Oosterdam slated for this more flexible option in 2008.
