The Ryndam was launched by Holland America in 1994 and was completely renovated in 2004, giving it all the modern upgrades while retaining a classic elegance. This moderately sized ship (capacity of 1,258) spends its winters touring the Mexican Riviera and the Sea of Cortez, then heads to Alaska during the summer months.

Guests who choose the Ryndam will enjoy the open public areas and a wide range of fun activities and entertainment. There is a different production every night in the theater, daily food-focused workshops and wine tastings, drinks and dancing in the Ocean Bar or relaxing classical music in the Explorers Lounge. The main pool area has lovely décor and two whirlpools, and the fitness and spa facilities are current and well-equipped.

Dining choices include the Rotterdam Dining Room, The Lido Buffet and the Pinnacle Grill. Holland America has a new and improved dining program called “As You Wish”, which gives guests an alternative from the standard evening seating options. With a choice of making reservations or simply walking in during a designated timeframe, the “As You Wish” program is due to be implemented on the Ryndam in the winter of 2007.
