One of the largest in Princess’ fleet, this “Grand Class” ship was introduced in 2004 and weighs in at an impressive 116,000 tons. The Sapphire Princess has destination choices that include Alaska, Asia and Hawaii, accommodating up to 2,670 guests.

It’s easy to spread out and avoid the crowds on this large ship, while enjoying all the great entertainment choices. Public areas are spacious and include Atrium bars that spill out into other main areas, a huge internet café with 29 work stations, as well as the dazzling Skywalker Disco and observation lounge. For evening fun, passengers can catch a live Broadway-style show at the Princess Theater, play blackjack at the Asian-themed Grand Casino, or dance till dawn at Club Fusion. Other activities include dance classes, cooking demonstrations and onboard movies. There are five pools, a high-tech fitness center with a wide range of machines and workout classes, as well as relaxing facials and spa treatments at the Lotus Spa. This ship is also very family-friendly, with kids’ areas encompassing over 10,000 square feet and plenty of activities for all age groups.

Cabins onboard the Sapphire start at just under 200 square feet. Outside cabins encompass over 70 percent of the offerings and almost 80 percent of those have private balconies. All cabins feature amenities such as over-size closets, televisions and turn-down services. Dining options include traditional assigned seating in the International Dining Room, or a choice of four other dining rooms with “anytime” flexible dining. Casual meals can be found at the 24 hour Horizon Court, or guests can splurge on dinner at one of the three specialty restaurants, which provide an elegant fine dining experience for a small fee.
