Holland America ms Statendam Alaska Cruise
ms Statendam

With a focus on the arts and a theme of Dutch history, the Statendam is reminiscent of a floating museum. Launched in 1993 and holding up to 1,266 passengers, the décor of the ship includes over two million dollars worth of artifacts for viewing, creating an unusual and elegant ambiance.

Those traveling onboard the Statendam will find all the amenities of a newer ship. The Culinary Arts Center showcases cooking demonstrations and offers classes, or guests can surf the internet in the Explorations Café. The Greenhouse Spa and Salon features a hydrotherapy pool, sauna and spa services. For evening entertainment, the Van Gogh Theater, themed after the famed artist, has a multitude of shows, from Vegas-style revues to comedians and variety acts. Families will enjoy club HAL, with programs for all age groups, as well as the Loft and Oasis rooms for the teen set.

For dining, the two-tiered Rotterdam Dining Room provides a sophisticated setting and offers five course menus, along with an extensive wine list. Those seeking casual fare will enjoy the Lido Restaurant, with its buffet set up and relaxed style. Or for a special event, the reservations-only, Pinnacle Grill gives guests the chance to enjoy an intimate dining experience with gourmet cuisine.
